5 Best Things to Do If you are jobless: We have all dreamed of living a wealthy life after graduating. Most of the student’s prayer is to get a job in campus placements in any multinational corporation company. After graduation, graduates aim to earn a modest income to support their families and maintain their dignity in society. But how many of the students achieved their dreams? How many of the students reached their goals? Their dream is not to become a millionaire; rather, it is a common man’s dream to secure a job and earn a decent income. The ultimate goal is to earn money so that they can take care of their own needs and their family and live with confidence.
The increasing birth rate in India has made it increasingly difficult for 80% of students to secure employment in IT or core companies after graduation. Just like India’s population, the number of engineering colleges is increasing day by day. In total, India boasts more than 780 universities, with Tamil Nadu ranking third with over 50 universities. In Tamil Nadu alone, there are 2705 colleges, and among them are 882 engineering colleges. Despite the fact that many companies recruit students through campus placements, only a maximum of 200-300 students can secure a spot in a placement batch; this leaves other students with no options, as campus placements are only available to those with academic scores of 70% and above. It is evident that nearly 80% of college graduates each year are actively seeking employment. Even if the ratio is 60:40 between success and failure, the remaining 40% of the students are unemployed, which is in lacs when counted.
So if you are one of them, what do you do right now in your life? If you still can’t focus your mind on anything stable, here is the list of the 5 best things to do if you are jobless after completing your degree.
5 Best Things to Do If You Are Jobless:
5) Write articles for others:
If you are proficient at writing, you can write articles for others. You can create a profile in UpWork, iWriter, and Fiver. Explain clearly what your field of interest is or topics that you would like to write about for others. But writing articles for others will not fetch you a substantial amount of money initially, but once you start writing continuously, you will get a decent amount of money. When a recruiter likes your articles, he will give you work continuously, and he will also start recommending you to his friends. You can use tools like Hemingway and Grammarly to improve your English writing & grammar skills. Take the first step by creating a profile on freelancing websites if you are a passionate writer and if you are interested in writing for others. I have listed a few of them here: Craigslist, Freelancer, Guru, FreelanceWritingGigs, UpWork, and iWriter, You can google to find more freelancing websites.
4) Social Networking:
Let me ask you a question. Can you find any one person in your friends’ circle who doesn’t know about Facebook or Twitter? I bet you can’t. The social network has been intertwined with our day-to-day lives. You may ask me, How is this going to help you? Let me answer. There are good and bad in everything. The bad thing is you can waste your time by sitting idly scrolling your timeline feed and passing time, or you can use it as a beneficial medium to get contacts by joining job-finding groups & pages. Be active in those groups/pages; thereby, you can be up to date on walk-in interviews that are happening in and around your city, which will surely help you to get a job. Social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram have helped many people get jobs. And don’t forget to register on job portal websites like Naukri, Timesjobs, Outsourcely, and Foundit make use of sites like Chetanas Forum and Prepare Interview to learn about sample interview questions. If you have not registered in job portals, I strongly recommend you register right away and make use of it.
3) Affiliate Marketing:
Affiliate marketing actually has greater potential to earn money than an IT job. It may be skeptical for you to hear, but it’s the truth. If you are a skilled marketer and have many contacts, then you can easily earn more money by choosing this option. If you are a blogger, it’s an added advantage. Even if you don’t have a website, you can still earn using affiliate marketing. Many may not agree with me in saying that a website is a must for affiliate marketing. Yes, I do agree with it. But if you have a Facebook page with a lot of likes, a large Facebook group, and a lot of followers on Twitter and Google Plus Community, then you can sell products using your affiliate links directly using your social media marketing skills. The Amazon associate program is considered the best in the world for affiliate marketers. There are many affiliate programs available for you to choose from, like Shareasale, Impact Radius, Commission Junction, and Link Share, but almost all of them require a website. You can Google to find out more about affiliate marketing.
2) Blogging:
Blogging is considered the second-best thing to do if you are jobless. Blogging is another best way to make money, but it’s not as easy as you think. All you need is a PC or laptop with an internet connection and your dedication and precious time. If you’re unemployed, you can utilize your time fully in blogging. Create your own blog using Google’s Blogger Platform or Automattic’s WordPress Platform. One of the best things about blogging is that you can write about anything that you like, but make sure what you write is quality content. People will visit your blog only if you have quality content. If you make them visit your blog regularly, then you can get good traffic. Make sure not to give up; even if your traffic is very low in the initial stages, find out where you are making mistakes and correct them. Engage with your audience regularly by responding to their comments. Once you start to get constant traffic (say greater than 500 unique visitors daily), then you can apply for Google Adsense. Thereby, you can post ads on your blog and make good money. And market them using social networking sites to get more traffic. There are other alternatives to Google AdSense like Medianet, Bidvertiser, Infolinks, Amazon Ads, etc. Among all, Google Adsense is considered the best. Google is strict about its policy and terms. If you do not comply with them your account will get banned. Once your Adsense account gets banned, then chances are very minimal to get approved again.
1) Tuition/Coaching Class:
Yes, you read it right. Taking tuition for children is the first and best thing to do if you are jobless. A branded play school collects 40,000–50,000 INR as an annual fee (don’t know where our education system is leading to). Since parents are busy earning money, they don’t spend enough time teaching their children, or we can say they don’t have sufficient time to teach their children. So they are looking for teachers who can make their children study well. You don’t need a computer or internet connection, and you don’t need to spend money advertising your tuition. Just a banner/billboard is enough to get a few students; tell your neighbors, and it will reach many through word of mouth. Take tuition even if it is for one or two students, concentrate fully on their studies, and make them shine in their class; thereby, their parents will refer you to their friends and neighbors. Nowadays, parents are ready to pay 500-1000 INR as a tuition fee (depending on what locality you are in). If you were able to get 20 students in a batch and if you charge 500 INR per student, you can easily get 10,000 INR for spending 2 hours in a day. If you’re good at mathematics, chances are very high to earn more money. You can easily earn what an IT employee earns in a month if you’re good at teaching. Just be focused on teaching, and it may get you a good name in your locality and among your students.

I idea of writing articles is great. But I have a question on it. Apart from iWriter all other websites are bidding type. iWriter is different. Its like you simply go and choose a topic and write. That is very nice. Is there any other websites similar to iWriter?

I vote for Affiliate marketing because Adsense is not effective on small blogs until you have millions of traffic…
