OK! you have got New Oneplus One , A device with high end configuration that can compete with other branded high end smartphones out there.But still you are disappointed that you were not able to talk with your friends & relatives using headset, you might be really annoyed because of this .Your Headset might have worked properly as it supposed to be when you hear songs . But if your headset is connected while making a call you can only hear the voice of the person who is speaking on other side but they will not be able to hear you unless or until you put in speaker mode or remove the headset.If you are the one facing this issue then this is the post for you. And don’t think you’re the only person who got fed up with this Oneplus one mic issue , there are many out there and I am one among you. The solution is simple and its just a one minute of work to Fix your Oneplus One Mic issue while talking . Just follow the below steps As soon as you plug-in your headset the first thing you’ll notice is TTY Notification Icon at the Notification bar. The TTY abbreviation stands for teletypewriter, a device that allows deaf or hearing-impaired individuals to communicate via the telephone by typing text messages.So Now because of this TTY Feature it is stopping the user on the other side from hearing us. 
So now we are going to disable this TTY feature on our Oneplus One after disabling this TTY option we will be able to use our Headset without any issues , Just follow the below pictures to disable it. You can learn more about TTY by visiting this Wikipedia Link Step 1: Go to Phone Dialer in your Oneplus One >> Open settings >> (Refer pic 1) If you are using third party dialer app >> Go to the App drawer and open the Phone dialer manually(Refer Pic 2) 
Step 2 :
After Opening Go to >> Settings >> 3 dotted Menu (refer pic) 
Step 3 :
Go to Other Settings >> Open TTY Mode >>
Step 4 :
Disable TTY Mode By selecting Off in the POP UP Menu >> 
By default it will be ON which is why you used to see TTY mode when we connect to the Headset . After Disabling you will not see TTY icon anymore and you are all set now
Now Plug-in Your Headset and Your Oneplus One MIC will work while talking
If You have updated to Latest Cyanogen 12( Lolly Pop ) or Oxygen OS then refer the below pics to change the settings
Even after doing this trick if it doesn’t work for you then you can try root your phone and follow the tutorials displayed in XDA Forum as well as in OnePlus One Official Forum Share your views in the Comments

I have a different problem. When i use the handset, no one is able to hear me. If I put the mobile on speaker mode only other people are able to hear me. Any solution for this???
Try this method Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Find Phone and clear data and restart your phone and if it doesn’t solve the issue Try hard resetting your phone

Sir, I’am facing a annoying problem OnePlus 7T , i.e. the mic of the handset if not responding properly ..if i call some one they tell me to speak loud …i have to place my mouth right down the mic to make them hear me….same as in voice recorder, video recorder….i tryed turning off the “Hey Google” bt it did not worked…. Prakash, originally this worked but then I upgraded to the latest version of CM 12.0-YNG1TAS213 and now mic never works and its very annoying. This is definitely a software bug as using above steps worked.
i found a way that isnt mention anywhere …. but its freaking weird and stupid ! take a stereo jack male , you can even cut the wire …. :/ no comment … and then you just have to go to the tty option and choose TTTY VCO and et VOILA !!!! why dont ask me … i tryed so many thing that i found that ….

I’m using one plus one mobile from last 6 months but after installing the updation my Mike and Speakers are not working. When I’m making a call to anyone, I’m not able to hear the voice to whom I have called. I can hear only, if I’ll put the mobile on speaker mode. Even I can’t hear the music as it works on when I use earphones. But, when somebody is calling me, I can hear the sound of ringtone. It means that there is no issue with the speakers. Please help me if anybody has solution on this. The issue u have mentioned is quite different and I have already checked all the solutions but nothing worked.

I’ve called the One Plus One customer care – they provided me steps to disable OK GOOGLE – I just did that, with a hope the problem will be resolved temporarily – the patch update is expected to resolve this soon.
Go to Settings -> Language & Inputs (Under System group) -> Voice Input (under Speech) -> Choose the settings for the Enhanced Google Services (the gear icon) -> Disable “Ok Google” detection

Issue:
the microphone picked up every little sound and amplified it like crazy. Putting down a glass on the table sounded like a jet flying by to the person on the other end, and vice versa. Thought it was the headset but no, ASR Recording app was the issue. Closing the app made the problem go away.
