Windows Phone Start Screen is quite different from Android Home Screen or iPhone Home Screen. In the Windows Phone Start Screen, we can get the live updates at a glance with the help of modern UI, also known as live tiles. We can change these Live Tiles accent colors through Settings, but color options are limited to only up to 20 accent colors, and there is no black accent color present in the options. but still, there is way to get black-colored live tiles in Windows Phone 7 & 8, like in the Below Picture

Windows Phone With black live tiles

Set Black Color live Tile:

To Set Black Color Live tiles in your Windows Phone

Goto Settings -> Theme -> Background -> Choose ‘White’

Below the background, you can see ‘Accent Color.’ When you tap on that, you can select any color from the available options But Black color is not present there. To get Black Color Live tiles

Goto Settings -> Ease of Access -> Choose ‘High Contrast’ -> Tap ‘On’ .

Enabling Black Color Live TileBy default, High Contrast mode will be Off Now to get black-color live tiles, we are going to switch on the high contrast mode. After setting High Contrast mode ON, no matter what Color Live Tiles you have set Now, it will be turned to Black Color Live Tiles. This option is actually for visually impaired users, but if you are a fan of black and white combination colors, then you can go for it. Oh wait! There are a few disadvantages to this trick: enabling Black Color Live tiles by turning on high contrast mode.

Black color live tilesThe first thing is that you cannot set your desired picture as lockscreen wallpaper; your lockscreen will be either plain black or white, depending upon the background you had chosen in your theme settings. The second thing is that missed call alert notifications in Call History will not be in red color (refer to the below picture). It will be in black or white again depending upon your theme settings.

Missed Call alert not in redThe third thing is that some hyperlinks in emails are getting removed automatically. If you really care about these things, then please do not go for black color live tiles. If not, you can go ahead and set black color live tiles in your Windows Start Screen.
