For the past 3 months I have been using StudioPress themes, and I’m loving it truly for the freedom it offers. There are many people around the world like me who are happy with their decision to buy Genesis Framework. Genesis Community is getting bigger and bigger day by day.Just head over here if you’d like to buy the Genesis framework, and here is the list of premium themes.Believe me, you won’t regret buying it.Well, let’s not go off-topic here. As soon as I started using Genesis Framework and their themes, the first thing I ever wanted was the Genesis Social Share buttons they used in their official StudioPress and CopyBlogger websites. You can see genesis social share buttons on this page below the post title and at the end of this post.

Here is the Screenshot of their Genesis Social Share Buttons

Like me, many Genesis lovers have been waiting for this plugin, but it was not released at that time since it was in the closed beta testing stage, so only a few developers got their hands on it for the past 3 to 4 months. But the good news is, now this wonderful light-weight plugin got released by Brian Gardner. As of now, you can’t find this plugin in the repository. In the coming days, you may find it in the repository to download. To get this plugin, you need to head over here to the Brian Gardner official site and subscribe. After subscribing, you will get access to download his Free Goodies along with some great tutorials and Genesis Code snippets.

After downloading, install and activate the plugin in your dashboard, and select Genesis -> Simple Share to change or modify the settings according to your needs.

Genesis Simple Share Plugin offers two options: outlined and filled look , See the below images for reference. In our site, we have selected a filled look.

Apart from these, Brian has given CSS codes to modify your Genesis Simple Share Buttons like on his website. You can get the CSS codes in Brian’s Official website  Make sure to Paste the CSS Code in your Child theme  style.css  if you want your social buttons to appear like in Brain gardner’s  page.

Hi, Prakash thank you very much for this very useful guide.. The only thing is that as Brian’s plugin name.. it correctly “shares” the post URL through all the socials. I would like (like in your blog) to choose “LIKE” and not “sharing” for Google Plus and Facebook social buttons. How can you do this? Thank you!

After installing the plugin , Goto your WordPress dashboard home and choose Genesis Simple share like in the 2nd pic of this post, In the settings page of genesis simple share plugin check the first two boxes, by default after checking it will show Google +1 and Facebook like jut like you asked refer this pic for my settings.

Thank you again! But it didn’t work… I mean, taking as an example an old post with more then a hundred of Facebook likes, it reports the correct number but the label remains “share” (and not “like”), and of course if you press on the button it will again open the canonical Facebook sharing window.. Maybe there is an incompatibily with my plugin/wp 4.01/ and Genesis.. They’re all updated and working well.. I must change the way for making social icons appear… Thx.

      Hi Massimo,
I think there must be issue with any other plugin compatibility , because i myself updated WordPress core and using the plugin without any problem, make sure you have updated the latest genesis framework as well as child theme and check with other plugins too . Thank you .

Been there, done that, tried again and twitter icon still doesn’t appear. Even copyblogger.com doesn’t have it. Actually, here too! I’d ask Brain (creator) but alas, his blog is currently void of any sharing options. This seems to be spreading…

Hi Prakash: I have this plugin on my website. I wanted to add other buttons to it that do not appear there now, like “share” and print and email. Can you please tell me how I can add these buttons to simple share buttons that already exist?
