It’s a tough time for Taiwanese company HTC, but the company is not giving up. It took more time for HTC than expected to realize the fact that it needs to cover all ranges to stay firm in the Android world. Nokia already made their entry-level device, the Lumia 520 , which is now the most popular Windows phone. Similarly, Samsung already covered all price ranges. The Taiwanese company just released four new Desire series smartphones in their home turf. In these four models, two models are DUAL SIM. HTC unveiled the Desire 300,501,601,700 in Taiwan to bridge the gap between low-range and mid-range levels. Desire 300 was already introduced by HTC last September in Berlin, so we can see the rest of the models.
HTC Desire 700
The HTC Desire 700 comes with a 5-inch screen with 960×540 resolution, which is low compared to today’s standard. It supports dual SIM, Boom sound with front speakers like in the HTC One model, and also supports the Zoe feature. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It has 8GB of onboard storage with microSD card support up to 64GB. 8 MP rear camera and 2.1 MP front facing camera for Skype video call. Desire 700 weighs 149g and has a 2100 mAh battery under the hood. It is still not clear whether the device will come with Android KitKat or JellyBean and also sense 5 or sense 5.5.The device is priced at 13,900 NTD, which is expected to be around 29,000₹ in Indian currency when converted.
HTC Desire 601
Apart from the Desire 700, HTC announced another dual SIM model, namely the HTC Desire 601. We are already familiar with Desire 600c and Desire 600; both are dual SIM versions available in Chennai and all around India. But Desire 601 configuration is a little less than Desire 600 and 600c. Desire 601 comes with a 4.5-inch screen with 4GB of on-board storage coupled with 1GB of RAM. And the device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. Desire 601 has a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA camera at the front. The device weighs 130g and has a 2100 mAH battery under the hood. Desire 601 comes in black, white, and red colors. The price of Desire 601 is 10,900 NTD, which is expected around 23,000₹ in Indian currency when converted.
HTC Desire 501
HTC Desire 501 is a single SIM smartphone, and compared to Desire 601 and 700, it has low specs. It comes with a 4.3-inch screen, unlike the Desire 700 and 601; it doesn’t have Boom sound, but it supports NFC. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage, supports microSD up to 64GB, and weighs 130g. It has an 8 MP rear camera and a 2.1 MP front-facing camera for Skype video calling. It doesn’t come with a quad-core processor like the other two models; instead, it comes with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. And it also has a 2100 mAH battery under the hood. The price of 9,900 NTD, which is expected around 20,500₹ in Indian currency when converted.
